Empowering Entrepreneurs: Specialized Training Workshop

Amirda Organization has been providing specialized consultancy, financial, and IT services to industrialists and entrepreneurs in the Batticaloa District. In collaboration with Vivekananda College of Technology, we organized a specialized training workshop for the college’s students, our clients, and local entrepreneurs.

On March 5, 2025, under the leadership of Mr. T. Puvikaran, CEO of Amirda Organization, and Mr. K. Pratheeswaran, Executive Director of Vivekananda College of Technology, a specialized training workshop was successfully held at the Amirda premises. The workshop featured an introduction to the college’s training programs and included sessions led by expert resource persons.

The workshop was guided by Dr. Thomas Jayendran, a London-based scholar with 20 years of experience as a senior lecturer at prestigious institutions such as Writtle College and IOM International Business School in the USA. Dr. Jayendran has also served as a project planning consultant for various countries and organizations and has worked as a social worker, uplifting underprivileged communities globally through the Optima Foundation-UK.

The session provided a comprehensive overview of key aspects related to self-employment and business development. It aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and strategies to successfully initiate and manage their own ventures. The discussion encompassed several crucial topics, including starting self-employment ventures, fostering business development, encouraging innovative thinking, implementing practical approaches, and addressing common challenges with effective solutions.

Various analytical methods such as SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) and PESTEL (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal) were utilized to provide a structured approach to decision-making and strategic planning. Additionally, group activities played a significant role in enhancing participant engagement and improving clarity on key concepts.

Such initiatives, led by international experts, provide local entrepreneurs with access to Western business techniques and global networks. By continuing to host similar events, we aim to bring significant benefits to the entrepreneurs of our district.

Industrial visit for Vivekanandha College of Technology Students at Amirda Private Limited

A Industrial visit was successfully conducted on February 10, 2025, at Amirda Private Limited for the students of Vivekanandha College of Technology. The workshop aimed to provide valuable knowledge on networking, IT trends, web development, and career opportunities in the IT sector. It served as an excellent platform for students to gain industry insights and understand the evolving technological landscape. The event commenced with a prayer, setting a positive and motivating atmosphere for the sessions ahead.

Introduction to Amirda Private Limited

The first session was led by Mr. T. Puvikaran, our Chief Executive Officer of Amirda Private Limited. He provided a brief overview of our organization and its services, highlighting the company’s role in the IT industry and its contributions to technological advancements and business solutions.

Insights on IT Trends and Web Development

Following this, Mr. S. Purusoth, our Financial Executive Officer , delivered an insightful talk on current IT trends and web development. He discussed:

  • The importance of web development in the digital era.
  • How businesses leverage IT innovations to stay competitive.
  • His session provided students with a better understanding of the industry’s direction and the skills required to excel in web development.

Skill Development and Career Growth in IT

The final session was conducted by Bran Livinston, an IT trainee at Amirda Private Limited, who spoke about skill development and career opportunities in the IT field. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and skill enhancement to stay relevant in the competitive industry. He encouraged students to develop a strong foundation in programming, networking, and problem-solving while also focusing on communication and teamwork, which are equally important in the corporate world. He shared useful tips on career planning, internship opportunities, and industry certifications that could give students an edge in their professional journey. His speech served as a motivation for students to start focusing on their personal and technical development early in their careers.
